Custom Crowns Palos Heights, IL
Welcome to Magnolia Dent, where Dr. Natasa Manasovska has been designing custom crowns for over 20 years. We take pride in creating beautiful restorations that help restore and protect your smile when teeth are severely damaged or diseased.
What are Dental Crowns?
Dental crowns are snug-fitting caps that cover the tops and sides of damaged or decayed teeth. These teeth are too damaged to repair with fillings, inlays, or onlays. A crown fully covers the visible portion of the tooth down to the gum line. This adds strength and durability, while restoring the tooth’s bite force and appearance.

Our Custom Crowns Process
There are various types of crowns available, including “same-day crowns,” but at Magnolia Dent, we prefer Lab-Fabricated Crowns for their greater versatility. While a same-day crown can be made “in-office,” it is essentially 3D-printed and less customizable than a lab-fabricated crown.
Lab-fabricated crowns, unlike same-day CEREC crowns, require two visits to our office. At your first visit, we will numb the area, then shave down the tooth to reduce its size. We take impressions and place a temporary crown to protect the tooth while your permanent crown is designed and created.
Dr. Natasa sends detailed X-rays and impressions to our dental lab, where skilled dental prosthetic experts carefully craft your crown from the materials chosen by Dr. Natasa to provide the best combination of aesthetics, bite force, and protection for your tooth. When this permanent lab-fabricated crown is ready, you will return to our office. Dr. Natasa will check the fit, trim any uneven edges, and cement the crown in place. After polishing it, you will leave with a new crown that should last 20 to 30 years.
Why would I need a dental crown?
Dental crowns are incredibly versatile and can often save a tooth that would otherwise have to be extracted due to severe decay, breakage, or cracks. If you undergo a root canal to remove infected tooth pulp, a dental crown will support and protect the tooth from reinfection. Crowns are also sometimes used to support dental bridges or are attached to dental implants to restore a missing tooth.
